In preparation for the upcoming Parliament session, the central government has scheduled an all-party meeting for Sunday. The main focus of this meeting will be to discuss the agenda for the special session of Parliament.

Discussion at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s Residence

Sources have revealed that a meeting was held at the residence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to deliberate on the forthcoming Parliament session. Notable attendees included Union Ministers Arjun Meghwal, Prahlad Joshi, Mansukh Mandaviya, Piyush Goyal, Anurag Thakur, and Ashwini Vaishnav.

Five-Day Special Parliament Session Announced

Earlier this month, Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, announced a special five-day session of Parliament. The session is scheduled to take place from September 18 to September 22.

Unique Commencement on Ganesh Chaturthi

Sources have disclosed that the special session will commence in the old Parliament building and then transition to the new Parliament building on September 19, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi, an auspicious day for new beginnings.

New Dress Code for Parliament Staff

An internal circular issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat reveals that Parliament staff will be required to wear attire adorned with floral motifs once the new Parliament building becomes operational.

Opposition’s Critique of Government’s Secrecy

Opposition leaders have criticized the government’s handling of the special session of Parliament, expressing concerns about the lack of transparency regarding its agenda. Jai Ram Ramesh, the Congress general secretary, expressed frustration, noting that with only five days remaining until the session, very few individuals, possibly just two, are privy to the session’s agenda. Ramesh also cited past instances where the list of business for special sessions or sittings was known well in advance.
