The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its candidate list for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. In this announcement, significant changes have been made, including the replacement of several incumbent MPs with fresh candidates.

Delhi Candidates
In Delhi, the BJP has introduced five candidates. Notably, Praveen Khandelwal will be contesting from Chandani Chowk, replacing the two-term MP and former Union Minister Harsh Vardhan. Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of late BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, has been named as the party’s candidate for the New Delhi constituency, taking over from Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi.

Changes in Delhi Seats
There have been replacements in other Delhi constituencies as well. Ramvir Singh Bidhuri will now represent South Delhi, replacing Ramesh Bidhuri. Kamaljeet Sehrawat replaces two-term MP Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma in the West Delhi seat.

Madhya Pradesh Reshuffle
In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP has replaced seven sitting MPs. For instance, Bharat Singh Kushwaha will now represent Gwalior, taking over from MP Vivek Narayan Shejwalker. Jyotiraditya Scindia will contest from Guna, replacing Krishnapal Singh Yadav, and Alok Sharma will be the candidate for Bhopal instead of Sadhvi Pragya Singh.

Changes in Other States
Similar changes have been made in other states. For example, in Sagar, Lata Wankhede will contest instead of Rajbahadur Singh, and Virendra Singh Khatik will represent the Tikamgarh seat. In Assam, Parimal Suklabaidhya will contest from Silchar, and Amar Singh Tisso, Bijuli Kalita Medhi, and Ranjit Dutta are the new faces for Autonomous District (ST), Gauhati, and Tezpur respectively.

Chhattisgarh and Gujarat
Chhattisgarh and Gujarat also witnessed replacements. Senior leader Brijmohan Agrawal will contest from Raipur, and Roop Kumari Choudhary from Mahasamund. In Gujarat, Mansukh Mandaviya will contest from Porbandar, Parshottam Rupala from Rajkot, and Rekhaben Hiteshbhai Choudhary from Banaskantha.

Changes in Jharkhand
Manish Jaiswal and Samir Oraon are the new faces in Jharkhand. Jaiswal replaced former Union Minister Jayant Sinha in Hazaribagh, and Oraon replaced three-time MP Sudarshan Bhagat in Lohardaga.
